Best Waterproofing Method/Product?

Hi,
I'm going to have a new house built soon and I've had different contractors differ on what they'll use to waterproof the basement. 1 said Watchdog is the way to go, another said they won't use Watchdog but instead some rubberized membrane, etc.

Does anyone know what is the best product/method of waterproofing and why or why not?

Also,
For the exterior sheathing, some use Builtrite and some use OSB. Does anyone know the best to use and why or why not?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
