water seeping into basement from window well

With heavy rain ,I have water seeping into basement from the window well frame. I have a window well cover installed. it looks like the water is coming up from the ground into the window well area. is this a situation that could be fixed by regrading the soil. I just had a new patio installed about 10 feet from the window well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

You can install a drain in the bottom of the well to either carry water into a subfloor drainage system within the basement or away to daylight in the yard. The latter is an easier fix but is more prone to backing up depending on how you drain it.

Hope this helps.
