Odor coming from a dirt floor

I have a vacation house in the Pocono's with a dirt floor in the basement,and there is a awful odor in the house that I believe is coming from the dirt floor.Is there anything that I can do to seal the floor permantly without concrete?

Nope, best is to pour the concrete. Not such a big deal- really.
You can waterproof it too before (by bituimeniouse membrane) or later (by Hydraulic cement).

If you pour a slab make sure you put a vapor barrier down before the pour they come in diffrent forms 6 mil poly is the cheapest you can also use bentonite.
