Hello! I would be very grateful for your help (with my flooded basement, with water coming through numerous small cracks in the basement floor). It's hard to get a straight answer from contractors...

My question: can I put a sump below what appears to be the lowest point in my basement, without knowing whether I have drain tiles (in my newly-purchased 45-year-old-home)? And, if I need to have drain tiles before installing a sump pump,. how do I find out where they might be placed.

Thanks a lot!

Hello, Jon and Peg,

Installing a sump pump may not do any good at draining the water under the entire floor without a drainage system to direct water to the pump.

This can be installed along the interior perimeter under the floor and adjacent to the footing. This will relieve pressure under the floor.

If you are in Southeastern WI we can help you.

Truly,

Hello,

Another option is to inject bentonite tru holes in slab depending on waterlevel also polyurethane injection is an option.
two good web sites are www.cetco.con also find a site for prime resins. If you are in the NY area e mail me.
