Does anyone know if all hairline cracks and wider cracks in a brick veneer house have to be the problem of settling? When a crack is mentioned it always seems to be the opinion it's from settling other than possible termite damage, brick keys let go or such.
If it is from settling does anyone have an opinion as to the better way to repair the problem?
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Settlement is not always the case.

Unfortunately in South Carolina I believe that you are suffering from record drought conditions. This makes the soils especially clays shrink to practically rock. Many foundations suffer by dropping and shifting. The extent of movement may be done and overwith so dependant on the amount of deflection you may or may not need peiring.
