I am preparing to move in with my elderly mother & one of my first projects is to have her basement repaired. The house was built in the mid 60's & has a concrete block foundation. I am assuming this will have to be replaced by a concrete foundation?? Her basement leaks like a sieve too, so I'm unsure if simply replacing the concrete block foundation will take care of this problem too. Can anyone tell me (if you know) will we be able to reside in the house while this work is taking place?? I'd really like to know so we can make arrangements if need be.
