My homes foundation is made of 8x8x16 hollow core glazed block. My home is ninety-plus years old. I am sure there was never any waterproofing measure ever taken and I would like know what could be done. There is no problems with surface water. The basement is very damp.
I will dig the perimeter to the last course down and after whatever waterproofing measures are taken I will install a footer tile and backfill with washed gravel to within 12" of grade.
It appears that the mortar joints are the weak link. Is there a product that can be applied to the entire wall, that will stick to the glazed block and seal mortar joints?
Thank You,
Steve Marek
