What is the best method - technology - to repair a foundation crack less than 1/4" extending from window well to floor?

There are many acceptable methods to fixing a foundation crack.
First, Their is a big difference between a crack that is a hairline and a wall crack that is 1/4" wide.
If you can slide a quarter in the foundation wall crack it may be an indication that you might have a structural problem. It would be good to have a NAWSRC member look at the crack to give his opinion as to the type of repair he would recommend.
If the crack is small it is most likely a shrinkage crack which is a simple repair. Some contractors use epoxy to weld the wall back together. Some contractors will recommend injecting the crack with Polyurethane resin, which serves as a flexible joint.
Some contractors will use a combination of the above. If it is structural some will recommend supporting the foundation from under the wall with some type of pier. Or stitching the crack with Carbon Fiber Technology to keep the foundation from further movement.
Without seeing your problem it is hard to give you a difinite answer as to the best method. I would recommend that you talk to a NAWSRC member or a structural engineer if the crack is more than the width of a quarter.
I do not know where you are from but if you can't find a NAWSRC contractor in your area please feel free to contact me at stevea@pioneerbasement.com
