We just bought a house and realized that a portion of the original house has a foundation (perimiter) that has wood connected directly to it and along a 14' area in the back of the house this sits approximately 7-8" below ground level. They did not burry the wood wall but left a crevace seperated by a retaining seperate wood wall they used as one side of an in-ground planter. This has and will continue I think cause water damage. We have excavated the area.
Question 1: in addition to regrading to some extend, I am wondering if I can in addition to using pressure treated wood, cover the wood wall with a small external (would stick out) cement wall that would extend all the way from the cement foundation (7" under ground level) to approximately 6" above ground level? Please advise or respond to me if you are in my area and are an expert in such situations. I have seen Watchdog product but, I want this outside/external to a wood wall that goes all the way down to the foundation rather than sitting on top of the cement mini-wall.
